The journey so far - 11 - Muththathi

Destination:  Muththathi, Bheemeshwari Fishing Camp, Near Kanakpura.
Distance from Bangalore: Approx 100kms from Banashankari Temple.
Route:  Drive on Kanakpura road towards Malavalli, take left at Sathanur and another few kilometers to Muththathi village. Take right and 5-6kms to Bheemeshwari Fishing camp on the left side.
To Do: Take the coracle ride across flowing Cauvery and rest on the opposite bank. Water is shallow here and we can enjoy some water games! Bheemeshwari fishing camp is more like a resort where they breed and support different types of river fish. But I was surprised to know that they do not let you catch fish and no fish dishes are served! I won’t take this information anyways!
Stay: Bheemeshwari Fishing camp also provides stay and camping.
Food: There are plenty of small hotels in Muththathi as devotees and tourists crowd the place.
Highlights of the place:  At Muththathi village, you find plenty of small eateries with chicken cages. Yes, they catch live chicken of your required weight, make delicious curry out of it and give you with rice and other few curries. You can carry this chicken curry lunch across the river in your coracle and have a river side non-veg lunch.
Best time to visit: Post monsoon, before Jan.
Places nearby:  Bheemeshwari Fishing camp, Mekedaatu, Sangama are at close proximity.
Things to remember:  Visitors need prior permission to enter Bheemeshwari Fishing camp, please confirm with officials before planning. Vegetarians have very less choice here; survive on your own food!
